List damienhirst's Instagram 'Beautiful, kiss my fucking ass painting' (1996). Hirst explains the simplicity of the appeal of the spin paintings: "I really like making them. List damienhirst's Instagram 'Fun Fun' (1993), this work is part of a series of paintings made between 1993 and 1995, titled 'Visual Candy'. The series title resulted from an art critic branding the spot paintings 'just visual candy', to which Hirst's response was 'I couldn't get it out of my head. I thought, what...is wrong with visual candy?' As such the works are Hirst's reaction to the stigma attached to art considered merely pleasing to the eye. #painting #VisualCandy 1424069586294429662_1342525634

List damienhirst's Instagram 'This Little Piggy Went to Market, This Little Piggy Stayed at Home' (1996) is an early work from the 'Natural History' series, consisting of a bisected pig. The animal is contained within two glass and steel tanks which slide mechanically "like a bacon slicer; slowly, tragically" to unite then separate the halves in perpetuity. #NaturalHistory #sculpture 1421894258197292821_1342525634

List damienhirst's Instagram Detail of the sculpture 'Let's Eat Outdoors Today' (1990-1991). The work consists of a vitrine which is split equally. One half contains a steel barbecue covered in raw meat; underneath the barbecue, trays of maggots are inserted where the coals should be. The hatched flies pass through a four inch circular hole, so that the vitrine is reminiscent of the face of a die, in the glass between the two halves. In the other half the abandoned remnants of a typical family’s outdoor meal is presented, a cow’s head lies beneath the table. An Insect-O-Cutor is positioned above the table, it’s tray removed so that the dead flies fall into the food. Hirst describes the work as an exploration into human attempts at “trying to isolate the horror from our lives and remove it.” #sculpture #vitrine #flies 1329806275277629735_1342525634
