With the holidays coming up, it’s easy to overlook the fact that not everyone has the means to enjoy the festivities, especially with the humanitarian crisis happening in my home country. 54% of the children in Venezuela are living in malnutrition. @helpingchildreninvenezuelaare collecting donations this Sunday, November 26th at Downtown Independent from 4:30-7:30pm 🇻🇪 #repost@helpingchildreninvenezuela(@get_repost )・・・A Venezuelan mother cries inconsolably when receiving something to eat and some food for her family. They had wandered the streets with their children looking for food, even in the trash they searched, they had not eaten anything since the previous day and it was already 4 pm. This is the reality that is being lived in Venezuela.🇻🇪Una madre Venezolana llora inconsolable al recibir unas arepas y algo de alimento para ella y su familia.

@regrannedfrom @goodworksyemen-Repost from @veracityvonkrafft(caption slightly edited for space)YEMEN'S CRISIS: FROM BAD TO WORSEAccording to estimates by humanitarian organisations (11/15/2017), around 130 children are dying each day in Yemen from famine & the largest cholera outbreak in modern history.Aid groups say that the war has already killed 40,000 Yemeni children suffering from severe acute malnutrition this year and the figure will likely cross the 50,000 mark by the years end. “These deaths are as senseless as they are preventable. They mean more than 100 mothers grieving for the death of a child, day after day,” said Tamer Kirolos, the group’s Yemen director.Malnourished children have filled hospitals in the country due to the food shortage caused by the crisis. These children have loose skin because of extreme hunger & often have ribs jutting out.Malnourished children are also especially vulnerable to death as a result of cholera & other diarrhoeal diseases.Dr Najla al-Sonboli, the head of pediatrics at Sanaa’s Sabeen hospital says that she & her staff were seeing a new outbreak of diphtheria, a deadly bacterial infection that builds in the back of a child’s throat.Diphtheria is highly contagious. Around 385,000 children are estimated to be suffering from severe acute malnutrition in Yemen & aid agencies believe that only around half of those are receiving treatment.Help stop the spread of cholera in Yemen@goodworksyemenhttps://www.gofundme.com/goodworks-yemen-clean-water-projectHelp stop starvation in Yemen@yemensforgottenchildrenhttps://www.gofundme.com/YemenStarvationCrisis#yemencleanwaterproject#famine#starvation#childrenofyemen#saveyemenschildren#humanitariancrisis- #regrann
