Left: three years ago. Right: today. Same exact weight! #motivationmonday🔹Since this Instagram page is intended to be informative and motivating, the only time I feel it's necessary to post images of myself is when the photo is helpful in getting my point across.
🔹The morals of this story:
1. The most important relationship you will ever have is the one with yourself. Treat yourself with love and take care of your body.
2. Food is your fuel. Eat well and eat often.
3. Nothing is impossible to achieve: it just takes time and effort. 🔹As I lean down for my next competition I have come to the point where the scale reads the same as it did three years ago when I realized how out of shape I was. I see some differences 😳. The truth is I'm not someone who has ever struggled with body image issues, never had an unhealthy relationship with food or was ever even overweight. I grew up playing sports, was lucky enough to have a great metabolism, ate whatever I wanted, and was always a healthy weight. But by the time I got to my 30s my metabolism slowed down, and three years ago when I stepped on the scale I was fine with the number but not the body that went with it. I wanted muscles 💪🏻 instead of fat so I got a trainer/nutritionist (currently working with @bodyvisions and they are amazing), changed my diet and got to work. Trading fat for muscle hasn't come easy. It has taken a few years to find what works for me, during bulking season I eat a lot and don't do any cardio. I've still got a lot more to gain, but I like a good challenge and will keep doing what it takes to get the results I want. At this point though it's definitely nice not having the gray meat looking, out of shape body anymore. #dowork #liftheavy #girlswholift #figureprep #npc #transformation #muscle #bodybuilding #graymeat #npcfigure #abs #eat #loveyourself #physique #fitfam
