Bar still swinging out. Need to fix this asap. Also keeping my back neutral. I will be glad once I lose more weight, my back/ass won't look so rounded out. Like.. it will be flat. Ha ha 😶 #powerlift

I think is lack of hip Extension is also true with people who have desk jobs. Sitting down for many hours forces our body to adapt to the "natural" hip flexed position. This has been true to many clients and this exact stretch/mobility work is what is prescribed to those Clients. Remember it's important to have good joint mobility before any kind of heavy loading. @mobilitywod #powerlift

Lately, I’ve talked about “regaining my spark” or “reigniting the flame” within me when it comes to powerlifting. After Nationals I felt SO burnt out and definitely needed to take a step back. I wondered if I’d ever get that 🔥 back. I actually think I am though. Here are the reasons I attribute my motivation and internal fire returning to. 🔥 Taking time off. I was on a bodybuilding style program for ~7 weeks 🔥Trying different things. I’ve been doing workout classes with my mom and incorporating yoga which has been a nice change. 🔥 Being more relaxed with my diet. After dieting into Nationals, it was a mental stressor that needed to be Alleviated. 🔥 Thinking in long term, not short term. It’s easy to get caught up in short term things, but looking at the bigger picture is so important. 🔥 Finding a new goal and destination! Obviously Worlds is mine, but this can be anything. 🔥Easing back into things. I’m only tracking 5-6 days a week right now and am doing stuff because I enjoy it. 🔥 Finding ways to destress. This one has really helped me and I’ll do a future post on that. Just thought I’d share some of these things in case anyone feels they’re in a “funk,” sometimes it simply takes time and trying something else. It’s taken me a good two months but I feel back. Guess who’s back🙌🏼

Great post by @jmaxfitness here. It really just comes down to sticking to the basics that have worked forever and avoiding the unique, gimmicky stuff that comes off as core training. DUMB EXERCISES VS SMART EXERCISES by @jmaxfitness - Just because an exercise looks cool or impressive on YouTube, it doesn't mean that you should be doing it too. - For example, if you want to look jacked, you need to put as much tension into the muscle as possible to BUILD THE MUSCLE. If you're standing on a bosu ball doing squats and/or curls, you're not able maximize the tension, and you're wasting your time. - You need to stick to the basics because they work. Is it boring? Maybe. Does it work? Yes. In all honest, you know what's more impressive than squatting on a bosu ball? Being able to squat 400lbs, bench press 300lbs, deadlift 500lbs, and row 200lbs. You'll get more jacked by doing this too. - If someone you know is wasting their time on dumb exercises, then send them here. - #powerlift

Top set from today was 90%x2(465) 3 weeks left in the program and I’m starting to get use to heavy pulls again. Hoping to get my deadlift back to 530-540. #powerlift
