It's a video that counting how many times each member of One Direction open their song. I first watched this video on one of Directioners account on instagram. And this random thought come accross my mind. I found that on their first album, most of the time, One Direction use the "common boy band formula." Liam Payne for the verse, the song opener. As I observe, Liam is confident on his performance, has the best vocal technic, steadily hitting his notes and control the power, but doesn't really has 'color' on his voice. Harry Styles set for the chorus. He is confident on his performance, not really good on his vocal technic, and often unsteady on hitting his notes, I found he sometimes sings too high or too low and not really good at control his power, but he has those raspy voice that make it unique and distinctive. And then Zayn for bridge and belting the high notes. I think Zayn is the best singer on the band. His voice has those 'color' that make him unique and distinctive, he belt those high notes amazingly, good at his vocal technic and control his vocal power, but he is lack of confidence. Last, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson take the harmonies part. From album to album, each of the member are growing and each of them given more equal part on each song. But, in their last album, my personal opinion, it sounds more like 'Harry Styles and the Potato'. His voice too dominating on their songs. It's like they loose their balance when Zayn departed from the band.
