AUTUMN LEAVES LYRICS
C'est une chanson
Qui nous ressemble
Toi qui m'aimais
Et je t'aimais
Nous vivions tous les deux ensemble
Toi qui m'aimais
Moi qui t'aimais

Mais la vie sépare
Ceux qui s'aiment
Tout doucement
Sans faire de bruit
Et la mer efface sur le sable
Les pas des amants désunis

Since he went away
The days grow long...
And soon I'll hear
Old winter songs
But I miss you most of all
My darling, when autumn leaves start to fall... Produced By

List mightyrealdisco's Instagram Metropolis was a Salsoul disco group produced by the legendary Tom Moulton. In 1978 they released their only album, THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH, which featured the moderately successful single, "I Love NY," a 40s big band homage doused in disco glitter. My favorite song, however, is the title track and album opener, a plaintive dance tune that uses broadway performance as a metaphor to explore deception in a romantic relationship. Melancholy + Danceable = instant favorite. There is a formula here, and I'm sticking to it! 1627569113508758061_5763463375

List mightyrealdisco's Instagram (part 2) Tom Moulton sought to replicate the success of his Sandpiper dance mixes by applying his continuous dancing approach to the A-side of Gloria Gaynor's 1975 breakthrough album, NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE, which featured the first ever uninterrupted mix of songs to appear on an album. Consumers absolutely loved it, but Gaynor wasn't too happy. Knowing that fans would want the continuous, instrumental heavy mix replicated live, Gaynor didn't know what she should do onstage during the instrumental sections. Moulton's advice? Dance! After these significant breakthroughs, Moulton become a sought after mixer and producer, extending playing times and adding disco zest to songs both old and new. The songs reworked by him had the 'Tom Moulton Mix' stamp of quality, and consumers started seeking them out by name. Oh, and then there's the no small feat of producing Grace Jones' first three albums! Not too bad for someone who had initially quit the music industry because of rampant dishonesty. Thank you, Tom Moulton, for making the world a more danceable place ✨ 1619085364399881040_5763463375

List mightyrealdisco's Instagram "I never made a dance record, I made records you can dance to." Disco music and club culture would not be what it is today if it weren't for Tom Moulton, record producer and inventor of the remix, the 12-inch single format, and the now ubiquitous breakdown section (or "disco break"). The perpetually modest Moulton claims the latter two were happy accidents, but whatever his intent, they radically influenced dance music. In the early 70s, Moulton took a trip to Fire Island, where he observed that the DJ at the Sandpiper club couldn't hold the interest of the dancers with his piddly 7-inch singles. Moulton thought music should encourage non-stop dancing, so he created a mix that would ease this experience. Using arduous cut-and-paste like techniques, Moulton assembled a continuous, over-lapping tape of songs, perfectly suitable for the dance floor. Shortly after, he was asked to use his musical alchemy to mix and extend certain songs. Moulton's 1974 remix of Don Downing's "Dream World" contained a first; the lengthy instrumental section that he added in the middle become the first use of what is now called the "disco break" (most instruments except percussion are stripped away and then slowly built back up for dramatic effect). He was also asked by label executives to extend the single "I'll Be Holding On," by Al Downing. A shortage of 7-inch acetates led to the use of a 12-inch instead, and he discovered that when a song was stretched out over this alternate format, the ample space between the groves provided a richer sound and incredible dynamic range. Soon after, both the 12-inch vinyl format and the "disco break" became popular standard fare with DJs and consumers. But that wasn’t all. Moulton also wanted to revolutionize the album format....
