Steak salad, so easy, so delicious! I don't eat steak very often, but when I do.... omg. So good. Sometimes your body just craves it, ya know? Although if you're vegan then I apologize for the meaty remarks. Today we have a juicy sirloin made with carmelized red onion, massaged kale salad, cherries, pistachios, gorgonzola and sunflower seeds drizzled with homemade balsamic vinaigrette. Entire meal literally took 18 minutes to make. No excuses. 👊🏽💥 Ingredients:
6 oz top sirloin steak (seasoned with McCormick Montreal Steak seasoning)
head of kale
1/2 red onion
cherries (whole or dried)
Balsamic vinaigrette: 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar, 1/3 cup olive oil, 1 tbsp dijon mustard, 1 tbsp honey, 1/2 clove minced garlic, salt, pepper, italian seasoning,
Season steak and let rest outside of the refrigerator for 15 minutes before making contact with the grill. Grill on high heat and use the Omaha Steaks method of time (google it) to measure how long you should keep steak on the grill. It's a great indicator for thickness, time, and doneness. Slice onion and cook on medium in oil in a cast iron skillet for 10 minutes or until translucent and soft. I drizzled some balsamic on while they were sauteing. While steak and onions cook, massage kale in salad dressing and let sit for 10 minutes. Add desired toppings and enjoy!
