#Repost @bookfairies_bangalore (@get_repost)

The third book dropped at the Ulsoor Lake entrance by our Book Fairy today was Sorajjem by Akkineni Kutumbarao. This is an Orient Blackswan translated edition.

Update: BOOK FOUND!!!
~
Our Book Fairy updated that the book was found by this auto-rickshaw driver, Nawab-Jan. He was happy to find the book for his kids who are studying at school and love reading books .
~
~
About the book: In Malapalli, an ‘Untouchable’ corner of a village in the Andhra region, every child’s dreams are crushed. They cannot stay at school. They tend the buffaloes. They work the fields. They are sexually exploited. They are expected to be content with a paltry pay. When they assert their rights, they are threatened, killed, or worse, forced to migrate to unknown far-away lands. This is the story of the first sixteen years in the life of Sorajjem, born during the month of India’s Independence. It is also a story of the sufferings of her community, the Malas. In this country where Gandhian values run deep, caste oppression is comfortably entrenched. This story is set in the recent past. But it can well be a story of contemporary India. Written in 1973 and published in 1981, Sorajjem is one of the early Telugu novels written by a non-Dalit writer that depicts the problems faced by the Dalits. This masterful translation captures the lived reality of inhumanity, alienation, displacement and sexual atrocity that the Dalits face at the hands of caste-Hindus and explores why seeds of revolution are sown in Dalit lives. #ibelieveinbookfairies #orientblackswan #sorajjem #bookdrop #bookfound #bookfinder #bangalore #bengaluru #bookfairiesbangalore #indianfiction #translatededition #bookstagram 1630591101503211733_4831603508

KSIĄŻKA ZNALEZIONA! Szczęśliwa znalazczyni trafiła na egzemplarz Lokatorki Wildfell Hall na samym szczycie Monument to the Great Fire of London! My nadzieję, że spodoba Ci nasza lektura września

O lokacji: Monument to the Great Fire of London zwany prościej Monument. Jest to najwyższa wolnostojąca kamienna kolumna na świecie. Upamiętnia ona Wielki pożar Londynu który miał miejsce w 1666 roku.
O książce: Losy kobiety walczącej o niezależność w świecie, gdzie w oczach społeczeństwa i w świetle prawa żona jest jedynie własnością męża. Pojawienie się we dworze Wildfell Hall pięknej i tajemniczej wdowy wywołuje huragan plotek wśród okolicznych mieszkańców. Czy młoda kobieta skrywa jakiś mroczny sekret? Nikt nie może uciec przed przeszłością... #bookfound #bookfinder #themonument #monument #monumentlondon #history #sirchristopherwren #christopherwren #architecture #london #england #uk #visitlondon

List bookfairies_uk's Instagram BOOK FOUND! This lucky visitor to The Monument found a copy of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall at the very top! We hope you enjoy our September Fairy Book Club read

About the location:

The Monument to the Great Fire of London, more commonly known simply as the Monument, is a Doric column in the City of London, near the northern end of London Bridge, that commemorates the Great Fire of London. Constructed between 1671 and 1677, it was built on the site of St. Margaret's, Fish Street, the first church to be burnt down by the Great Fire.

FUN FACT: Sir Christopher Wren's flame-topped Monument to the Great Fire of 1666 is the tallest isolated stone column in the world.

About the book:

Anne Brontë’s second and last novel was widely and contentiously reviewed upon its 1848 publication, in part because its subject matter domestic violence, alcoholism, women’s rights, and universal salvation was so controversial. The tale unfolds through a series of letters between two friends as one man learns more about Helen Huntingdon and the past that brought this young painter and single mother to Wildfell Hall. Powerfully plotted and unconventionally structured, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is now considered to be a classic of Victorian literature.

A note from the finder:

FUN FACT: Sir Christopher Wren's flame-topped Monument to the Great Fire of 1666 is the tallest isolated stone column in the world. About the book: Anne Brontë’s second and last novel was widely and contentiously reviewed upon its 1848 publication, in part because its subject matter domestic violence, alcoholism, women’s rights, and universal salvation was so controversial. A note from the finder: #playingtouristathome and stumbled across this surprise at the top of monument! List bookfairies_bangalore's Instagram How amazing is this! We love it when our book finders become a Book Fairy . Our #bookfinder @ajit_hao finished reading these books he'd found at the @thetealdoorcafe in July. He saw our Sci-fi book drops posts and decided to drop these at Dunkin' Donuts! Tell us if you find these books! Take these, read and leave them for others in the same way!
.
About the books: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a comedy science fiction series created by Douglas Adams divided into a trilogy in five parts. The broad narrative follows the misadventures of the last surviving man, Arthur Dent, following the demolition of the planet Earth by a Vogon constructor fleet to make way for a hyperspace bypass. Dent is rescued from Earth's destruction by Ford Prefect, a human-like alien writer for the eccentric, electronic travel guide The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by hitchhiking onto a passing Vogon spacecraft. Following his rescue, Dent explores the galaxy with Prefect and encounters Trillian, another human that had been taken from Earth prior to its destruction by the President of the Galaxy, the two-headed Zaphod Beeblebrox, and the depressed Marvin, the Paranoid Android. Certain narrative details were changed between the various adaptations. The books are humorous to the core!
