As I'm sure many of you know, the New York Knicks have traded star Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott, and a 2018 second round pick. I think with this trade, OKC will the the No. 2 seed behind the Golden State Warriors with this trade. However, there are some consequences. Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony are both ball dominant players who like having the ball to themselves most of the time, and are known for their usage rate. I see Carmelo Anthony starting at power forward but sometimes can slide at small forward with Paul George playing shooting guard, a position that he can play and was a SG when first drafted, but was moved to SF later. Anthony is s scoring and rebounding threat, which is why I see him moving up to PF and help along with Adams.
As for the Knicks, they have a no-defense center who can ruin Willy Hernangomez's development. NY also might be able to move Kanter at power forward and push KP at center, but realize Porzingis isn't exactly built for center. He would be the primary rebounder most likely and being honest, he isn't a very good rebounder for his height. The Knicks have struggled his defense by a lot last year as it was their primary problem with rim protection. I don't think Kanter can help. Another problem is his contract. Knicks would yet take another overpaid player with a awful contract. Moving on, I think Doug can be a solid player for the Knicks and be a notable player when it comes to crunch time.
I see the Knicks as a 10th seed not making the playoffs once again, and the Thunder as the 2nd seed having a rough battle with other teams in the playoffs but make it to the WCF and losing 4-2 to GSW.
