I don't think I'll end up living most of my life in a big city. There is nothing that makes me as happy (nearly euphoric) as being surrounded by mountains, open fields, forests, lakes or valleys. Trees. Weird plants I've never seen before. Seeing plants sprout. Glittery rocks, shells, funny insects or animals, foot prints or trying to identify what animal's 💩 it could be.
This picture is from Namibia last April, and it's possibly my favorite one. Totally underestimated the immensity of the country and tried to see as much as possible in 5 days. Which meant: driving for hours and hours and hours on end, missing check-in timings for hostels and asking for help at a lodge - low on gas, no place to sleep and in the middle of nowhere with my tiny VW Golf (what was I thinking). It also meant ringing the doorbell of a hostel a bazillion times at night to get the owner to come out and let me stay. Apples and biltong were on my snack menu most of the days and I found out the hard way that biltong needs to be sliced in order to be consumed by humans. Whether I tried to chew my way through a massive piece of biltong or not, is for me to know, and for you to never find out.
